The enthusiasm for the annual Dumpling Festival in St Johann in Tirol continues to amaze organisers – even after 38 years of the event.

The recipe for the festival’s success: 21 different dumpling stands, approx. 26,000 dumplings served and an almost 600m long dumpling table. Once again thousands of dumpling lovers are expected in St Johann in Tirol for this year’s event from 20-22.09.19.

“Warm Up” from Monday to Friday

A lively supporting programme for dumpling fans is planned for the week before the St. Johanner Knödelfest. In addition to a guided dumpling hike on Monday, followed by a joint dumpling cooking session at the Hirschberg mountain inn, there will also be a culinary hike on Wednesday on the theme of “dumplings: a new interpretation”.

Another highlight is the big Almererfest at the Harschbichlalm on Friday, 20 September 2019 followed by an evening concert in the town by the local brass band and Austrian folk-pop star Petra Frey.

Those who want to carry on after 21.00 can visit the DJ sounds at the Dumpling Club in the Kaisersaal.

An early start on Sunday
