Innsbruck Summer Events 2022

Innsbruck likes to market itself as an ‘alpine-urban’ city and the summer events in the city are a good mixture between active and cultural (and sometimes both together!)…

Sporting Events in Innsbruck

Unsurprisingly, given the mountain backdrop to the city, climbing and mountain bike events feature prominently in the sporting calendar for the capital of the Tyrol.

Cultural Events in Innsbruck

Like most cities, Innsbruck has plenty of more ‘traditional’ cultural events, such as the Festival of Early Music or the Promenade Concerts. Here are a few more ‘alternative’ selections for the summer months…

Innsbruck International Film Festival

24.05.2022 – 29.05.2022

The International Film Festival in Innsbruck exists to ‘show films from regions and on topics that are underrepresented in global cinema networks’. The documentaries and features from around the world are shown mostly in the two ‘alternative’ cinemas in Innsbruck: the Leokino and the Cinematograph.

Klassik am Berg

The New Orleans Festival on the banks of the river Inn near the Markthalle is a regular and popular fixture in the city’s summer events calendar. The programme of concerts actually starts a little earlier in the month in various locations, but the four-day finale is the highlight of the festival.
