The Liechtenstein Gorge

The Liechtensteinklamm is an impressive gorge near St. Johann im Pongau. Rock faces up to 300 metres high tower above walkers while the waterfalls and the mountain stream appear in all shades of green and turquoise.

The light from above is also constantly changing as it makes its way through gaps where in places the gorge is only a few metres wide.

The Liechtensteinklamm was closed for several years of renovations and reopened in summer 2020. Visitors will find an impressive addition: the mighty ‘Helix’ spiral staircase, made of Corten steel, leading 30 metres down to the bottom of the gorge.

The Liechtenstein gorge is open daily until the end of October.
