A New Waterfall Trail near Mayrhofen

The Stillup valley in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region is renowned for its rushing mountain streams and waterfalls, as well as being a popular destination for excursions.

The construction of the first section, with a length of 5.4 km from the base of the Stillup reservoir dam to the Grüne Wand Hut, will be implemented this summer, adding a mountain experience to the valley.

The new adventure trail for hikers crosses back and forth across picturesque rushing streams and leads past scenic alpine pastures.

“The longing for “being outside” has never been greater than this year,” says Andreas Lackner, head of the Mayrhofen-Hippach Holiday Region. “It was important to us to interfere as little as possible with the existing natural landscape when planning the new hiking trail. We also refrained from any kind of artificial staging, because nature can speak for itself,”

The project will be implemented in three construction phases. The aim of the trail is to create a new experience for hikers in the Stillup valley away from the existing asphalt toll road.
