The “Via Culinaria” unites nine tourist routes and three hundred hosts who place great value on regional cuisine – and one of them specialises in mountain huts in ski areas.
The “Genussweg für (Ski-)Hüttenhocker” leads to 24 huts and mountain restaurants in well-known Salzburg winter sports regions such as Zell am See-Kaprun, Obertauern, Flachau, Hochkönig and in the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Ski Circus.
If your stomach starts rumbline during the ski day, look around for one of the Via-Culinaria addresses. Practically all of them are located on or very close to the slopes.

Once settled in the rustic atmosphere, you can choose from filling soups to hearty “Brettljausen” with home-made bacon, home-made sausages and bread baked in a wood-fired oven, to “Kasnocken”, curd cheese balls and fluffy “Kaiserschmarren” to round off the meal.
Nowhere does it seem to taste better than in a hut – all year round. If you want to plan your meal in advance, you can order the Via Culinaria Guide, which is available free of charge.
