Find out more about Austria’s westernmost province, with the high mountains of the Arlberg and Montafon descending through the wooded hills of the Bregenzerwald towards Lake Constance and the border with Switzerland and Germany.
Winter sports are an important part of the economy here with the ski resorts of the Montafon valley and the Bregenzerwald region as well as the more popular skiing in the Arlberg.
Cross country skiing and snowshoe hiking are also popular winter pastimes.
When the summer comes around, it is time for hiking and mountain biking in the mountains or taking to the waters of Lake Constance.
And, of course, there is the cultural highlight of the annual Bregenz Festival.
