Slow Walks Around Carinthia’s Lakes

Last updated on April 8th, 2020 at 06:49 am

Slowtrails with panoramic views in Austria’s south encourage visitors to take their time when they are walking.

The new Slowtrails in Carinthia invite you to walk at a leisurely pace and take time to look around you.

The short hiking trails near the lakes are a maximum of ten kilometres long and climb a maximum of 300 metres. By the end of 2020, there should be 17 such trails at the Carinthian lakes.

Slowtrails on the Weissensee, the Pressegger See, the Klopeiner See, the Ossiacher See, the Wörthersee and the Millstätter See are already accessible.

On the slopes of the Mirnock, for example, you can embark on an almost one-hour forest hike and enjoy breathtaking views of Lake Millstätter See from the viewing platform “Sternenbalkon”, from which you also have a beautiful view of the sunset.

There is a second slow trail just above Millstatt, through the forest at the Zwergsee. The viewing platform “Waldbühne auf der Luschan Höhe” invites you to relax and enjoy the view.
