The Kreuzbergl is a popular recreation area close to the centre of the city of Klagenfurt in Carinthia and a favourite spot for walkers and runners.

The Kreuzbergl, the 517-metre-high mountain in Klagenfurt, is part of a group of peaks to the northwest of the city. Visitors to the recreation area can enjoy forests, meadows, ponds and the sound of the many birds within easy reach of the city.

Hikers and runners make their circuits here all year round. A 10-kilometre-long trail, the City Hiking Trail No. 11, for example, leads from the Landhaushof over the Kreuzbergl to Lake Wörthersee.

The mountain near the city also has its own sights worth visiting. The baroque, twin-towered Kreuzbergl Church with its outdoor Stations of the Cross is visible from afar.

The observatory is the best place to take a closer look at the night sky. The botanical garden with its water and meadow landscape is also a beautiful place to linger. It is located at the foot of the mountain, near the Kreuzbergl Church.
